Hobbit Huts

A simple and sheltered outdoor base for your stay. Ideal for smaller groups looking for comfort without losing the camping experience.

Our Hobbit Huts offer a unique and memorable way to stay at Lapwing Lodge. Nestled within the grounds and close to main facilities, they provide weather-protected accommodation while keeping you firmly connected to the outdoors.

Ideal for smaller groups, patrol-based camps or short residential visits, the huts strike the perfect balance between traditional camping and indoor comfort.

Huts

Each hut provides simple, practical sleeping accommodation designed for youth groups. The huts are insulated and weather-protected, offering a more comfortable alternative to tents while still maintaining the outdoor experience.

Groups are typically divided across multiple huts, making them ideal for patrol-based stays or smaller sections.

Each hut includes:

✔ Main pod sleeps 8 - 3 x bunk bed and 2 single

✔ Separate  leaders pod at back of each hut has 2 single beds 

✔ Raised sleeping platforms

✔ Weatherproof structure

✔ Lockable door

✔ Basic lighting (if applicable)

✔ Close proximity to toilet facilities

Kitchen

Groups staying in the Hobbit Huts have access to a separate shared kitchen hut, located close to the sleeping huts.

The kitchen is designed to support multiple groups when required.

Kitchen facilities include:

✔ Four double gas burners (one allocated per hut when shared)
✔ Fridge and freezer storage
✔ Food preparation surfaces

We also have cook boxes for hire that include pots, pans and utensils.

Dining

A separate dining hut provides sheltered space for group meals and evening gatherings. Located alongside the kitchen hut, it allows your group to eat together comfortably regardless of the weather.

Dining hut includes:

✔ Tables and chairs
✔ Covered indoor space
✔ Close access to kitchen facilities
